Little Miracles

It is 1am here in The Land of Fairy Tales and I’m sitting here at the computer with tears just streaming down my face.

In light of my last post I thought it might be appropriate to share the reason why with you.

As you know, in 34 hours Ryan and I are boarding a plane and winging our way home to Phoenix, Az to walk in my sister’s wedding.

It’s a big deal…

You know what’s a bigger deal?

I lost my passport.

I have got to be one of the most organized people in the world and for the past 12 hours I have ransacked my house in increasing panic as I searched for the “SAFE” place I put it so it wouldn’t get lost or forgotten.

I have wept at the thought of missing my beautiful baby sister walk down the aisle on her most precious of days, I have screamed in rage at being separated from my husband during this month… (for those of you who don’t keep up with my TTC site, we are on Clomid this month and are on 1 of 3 shots before the clinic closes down so every month is crucial), and finally after a long and fruitless search I sat on my butt in the middle of shear destruction and cried out to God for help, apologized for my attitude and surrendered…

At this moment my husband walked into the room oblivious to just how bad this was, took one look at me sitting in the middle of a war zone and asked me,

“Did you check your purse?”

I calmly replied…

DUH of course I checked my purse… It was the 1st, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 29th…….. 432nd, and last place I looked… the zippers are pretty much falling off at this point.”

(This was of course said with the utmost respect, patience, and of course in my perfectly meek “I’m a good little wife voice”  (the sarcasm is dripping off more than my tongue in case you didn’t catch that.)

He just stood there looking at me with the most weary look…  (He has after all put up with two weeks of a hormone driven she devil living in his home) He sighed, shook his head, and said

“Well then look again.”

I growled out a ruff “FINE!”

Marched across the room (I was just gonna show him!) and started going through it again….  It only takes a minute, it’s a small purse with about five pockets…  As I opened the last pocket for the billionth time, upended it and shook…

OUT TUMBLES MY PASSPORT!!!!!!

Praise God I’m going home!!!!!!!

I feel into my husbands’ arms all weepy now of course and apologized and kissed his face all over… He just shook his head at me and sat back down to study  (he has a test tomorrow that he’s cramming for…)

I think now I need to go spend some time thanking God…

Then maybe I’ll get some sleep…

Guten Nacht!

Courtney

  1. I am so glad you found it!  When I read “I lost my passport”, my heart sank for you!  Praise God you (with a little help from your husband) found it!  Don’t you hate it when your husband shows you up?  Haha!  Nothing like having to eat a little humble pie.  I’m laughing ‘cuz I’ve SO been there.  ((Shrugs sheepishly))  Yup… definitely been there.    Hope you have a great time in AZ!  Praying for you always!!!

  2. I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as I read this and I prayed a quick prayer…..and then I got to the end of your post. I am SO happy you found it.

  3. Whew! You really had me on the edge of my seat for a minute there! I’m so glad you found it. I will keep you and your hubby in my prayers for safe travels and also that you will be blessed with a little one soon. Happy Easter!

  4. hey! I wanted to stop by and thank you so much for your comment, it was so nice and seemed to be just what I needed. Thank you so much! and I LOVE that song on your page, “How Great is our God” I just love that song makes me cry! Can you please tell me how I can get music on my page?

  5. Maybe God was testing you….experience is a hard teacher, she tests first, and teaches afterwards.  Personally, I don’t feel our God is like that.  I think the “wee folks” were playing tricks again.  They “borrowed” your passport for a bit and returned it when God made them.  At least that’s how I like to see it.  God does have a plan and purpose for us all, and very often we don’t know what it is.  That’s just the reminder to let go and let God.
“God is in charge, He will provide…Leave it in His hands.”

  6. Ahh, sorry I didn’t see your request!I posted it up on this Xanga…just too lazy to sign out and sign in the other…haha. I’ll be updating the other site soon though. I have some new glitters and stuff to post!

  7. Thank God you found it!  I was getting all tense just reading!  haha!  I remember being on Clomid-it made me a crazy woman!  I mean, I thought I was going insane.  I feel for ya girl-I truly do.
