Okay so I’m doing it again. I am having a family potluck at my house today. In just a few short hours I will have over 40 people in my home. We are celebrating ,a little late, Ryan’s 26th birthday and his home coming and of course Mother’s day. Because who is coming to this shin dig? Why, everybody and their mother of course!
I love having these get together’s. Everybody comes and eats and visits and that is it. They expect no entertainment, no organization, they don’t even expect me to prepare all the food. It is simply my home that they want. A place to gather and spend time together. They never leave it dirty, they even wash all the dishes! So I have time to walk around and visit with them too, which a hostess seldom does. The most wonderful thing about it is the age group it spans. There will be people here today ranging from their 70’s to a four month old baby and everyone knows each other and treats everyone else like family.
So the yards are clean the house is spotless the food that I am bringing to the preverbal table is ready to prepare and the dogs are washed. The only thing left is to open my door to them, my extended family. There will be grandparents, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, in laws and steps, nieces and nephews, friends of the family which of course make them family. So many that we love. So I’m off, to do the final preparations and to open my door……

Oh dear, it sounds like such a nice time! I would love it if mike and i lived together and could do that kind of thing. mabye someday. talked to him for a bit today. he is on his way home from montana. been 4 days since weve seen eachother..yeah. i was drunk last night..and i NEVER drink. i really miss him and i just want him to get home so that we can get through this..ill tell you more after he calls back.
that sounds like a blast!!! i’m glad it went great! i was able to have a little bit of that feeling over this weekend. with all family in for my sisters wedding..well not all but alot more than normal. it’s been 10 yrs since this group of us has been together at once. anyways, sorry i haven’t been around much. i think im back now..i’m just having a real hard time with my sister being gone..
