Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

There is nothing quite like living half a world away from our family and spending Thanksgiving day alone to make us realize how blessed we are to have such a large and quirky family!

For even 6000 miles do not dim our love for each other or the feeling of closeness that our family shares… a simple phone call can truly bridge a great distance.

So today I am thankful for my family, for our ability to visit often, for my husband who makes the empty space full.

I am thankful that I live in the digital age where letters don’t take weeks to get there and my mothers voice is a simple 10 digits away.

I am simply thankful.

God bless all of you today as you eat until you are bursting and visit until you have no words left…. and be thankful.

Ryan and Courtney

P.S. I’ll be back to write about the wedding and our trip and to visit with all of you on Monday!

  1. I’m so sorry that you can’t be with family today.  But you’re right…there is still so much to be thankful for.  I’m glad you got to see everyone recently.  Can’t wait to hear about your trip!  Have a wonderful day with your husband!

  2. I am thankful for ones like you and your husband who put their lives on hold and are away from loved ones for our country!!! Hope it was a good day thinking about all the good things that God has given to you.
    Hugs from North Carolina!!! ~Candy

  3. I have been reviewing some of your past posts, and I must tell you that the posted pictures have made me remember the wonderful times I myself spent in Germany.  Oh how I wish that I could return again to see some of those sites and to spend a few weeks in a quiet little village somewhere away from the hassel ofa Stateside city.

  4. Family is wonderful and as you mentioned being far away from them, I know isn’t easy. I wish I could have had my family there but I went to the hubby’s family who…um….does it “different”. lol! Ham and a tiny turkey, vegetarian food (all the teens have turned into vegans in Jersey. lol!), cabbage, cornbeef, goat cheese??? (I don’t know why they choose goat cheese as an appetizer)…basically it was just “different” but still nice. Anyway….it can be just as fun a-la-solo (we did that one year) and we really enjoyed it. Hope you had a grand time! *Big Hugs*

  5. Hey!  So glad you had a good Thanksgiving.  We too enjoyed our Thanksgiving… even though we had to celebrate a day early.
I know your holiday schedule is pretty busy… hope you’re finding time to rest!

  6. Hope you had a great holiday.  It was just Robert and I alone as well.  Though we didn’t get any of the traditional fare because of his work schedule.  Del Taco Thanksgiving for us. *lol*  That’s all we could cram in between him getting called out to work.
